Make a ladybird

Activity lasts: 10-15 minutes

What you need:

Two paper plates | Scissors | Red paint | Black paint | White paint | Paint brush | Glue

Activity:

Paint one paper plate black, and the other paper plate red, and leave to dry. Once the plates have dried, paint black circles onto the red paper plate and use white paint to draw eyes on the black plate. Leave these to dry and then cut the inside circle out of the red plate, chop the top off and then cut it in half. Cut the side edges off the black plate, then you are ready to assemble the ladybird. Glue the two red wings onto the black paper plate. Ask your child to count the circles on the ladybird? Can the say "The ladybird has" and then tell you how many black circles there are?
