Create a family of hand puppets for your child to role play with. Encourage them to use the English words for each family member.
Paper | Felt pens | Scissors | Tape | Straws or sticks
Trace around your child's hand with a felt pen on some paper or card. Let them decorate each hand as a different family member. Cut around each handprint. Tape each handprint to a straw or stick
Go through each handprint family member with your child, labelling them in English 'mummy', 'daddy', 'grandma', etc. Give your child the handprint family. Ask them questions such as "Where is Mummy?" and get them to wave the hand and say "Hello Mummy". Allow your child to role play with the hands, encouraging them to use the English family names.
